DETAILS

Well we reserched the flights and trains from zagreb, rijeka and the capital of slovania there are no flights we could take and all the train rides are over 11 hrs so the final plan will be to take an 8 hr train ride on the 24th to vienna and then a train to prague. we would have rather gone to croatia but it is to much of a hastle there will always be another trip and vienna looks like a nice city to check out.
hasta luego, emilio y joaco
ps venezia is amazing! we checked out all of saint marks today and ahve walked everywhere through the city.

Well part of being on this kind of a trip is to go with the flow. I'm sure you'll both visit Europe again and there's always more to see. I'm so glad you didn't miss Venice. There's nothing else like it. Pretty amazing huh? I do hope you have been able to buy a few things for yourselves. Enjoy the rest and yes, like Maite said, be prepared to be back in the States. Hopefully you're somewhat ready to come home. So, no more pictures? Send some please!
Love you and looking forward to having you home!

Croatia is one of my favorite spots in Europe; it is more unique than other parts of Europe, thyough not so much as 30 years ago. It is more off thye beaten path, so you have more transportation problems. Maria and I found that out this last year. We were going to take the train from Split/Zagreb to Prague, but found the trains so long and the logistics so difficult that we opted for the old people's solution of more money; a flight to Berlin (German Wings was cheap) and then a fast train to Prague. I can imagine how crowded the normal student byways are during summer, ie, the difficulty in getting the ferry to Dubrovnik.

Have fun whatever you decide. If in Vienna, check out if it is the season of the 'new' wine, and if it is, the drinking that goes on in Grinzing (sp?) is the place. I swam in the Blue, Blue Danube, but it really wasn't blue 40 years ago and I can imagine how un-blue it is now. Walk Prague at night, and do check out the communist museum and gets a sense of how the Czech Republic's political system has changed about every 15 years since the Hapsburgs.

Now for grandma...

Although Dubrovnic ,the old town is to me one of the wonders of the world...I know how young you are and lots of years ahead to travel again....Do what works the best for you right now,yet dont forget to appreciate the opportunity you have now.
We always think of you two....Be smart and safe and lots of love to you
